Alsace is a great wine region, home to famous grape varieties including Riesling, Pinot and Gewurztraminer. Taking you through the Alsatian vineyards, the famous Alsace wine route is a Mecca for wine tourism. Magnificent towns and picturesque villages line the 170 kilometres between Marlenheim and Thann. An hour south of Strasbourg, the town of Colmar is known as Little Venice, a district crisscrossed by canals. Around the road itself, numerous cycle routes allow you to explore the stunning rolling landscape by bike.
